Chocolate Oats

If you love sweet breakfast foods (or snacks), but want to avoid the guilt of eating high-calorie and non-nutritious foods: this recipe will satisfy that sweet-tooth while delivering tons of fiber and nutrients to your body!



Nutrition of Ingredients:


Oats

  • high in fiber and protein

  • contains anti-oxidant properties

Cinnamon

  • contains anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties

  • helps with metabolism and insulin-resistance

Banana

  • high in vitamin K and soluble fiber

  • contain anti-oxidant properties

Prep Time: 15 min


Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup rolled oats

  • 1/4 cup vanilla almond milk

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon powder

  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 whole egg

  • 1 whole banana, ripened

Instructions:

  1. In a small microwave-safe bowl, mashed the banana until the consistency is even.

  2. Add the egg and whisk together.

  3. Add ground cinnamon, oats, milk, maple syrup, and sea salt. Whisk until well-mixed.

  4. Stir in the chocolate chips.

  5. Microwave on high heat, uncovered, for 2 minutes.

  6. Stir the mixture until the chocolate has mixed evenly. This should result in a consistent brown / chocolate colored mixture.

  7. Microwave on high heat, uncovered, for 6 minutes.

  8. Let cool to desired eating temperature (or chill if you prefer it cold), and enjoy!
